The Demise Of A Nation.
From ‘chaiwala’ to ‘chowkidar’
An excellent ‘kalakar’.
Balakot to A-SAT…
Feels like House of Cards.
Rafale, GDP calculation, MUDRA…. Silenced and lost
National security became the one and only thought.
The Armed forces private ‘sena’
An individual the nation’s ‘sapoot’ and ‘nagina’.
From URI to Accidental Prime Minister
Political agendas through entertainment administered.
This is how elections are won
Definitely not how a nation should be run!
Our nationalism evoked
Our religious beliefs provoked.
Cities renamed
Cultures erased.
The minority marginalized
Every issue politicized.
Weakening of institutional freedom
Altering history through the curriculum.
The censorship of opinion
The curtailment of individualism.
Popular media enslaved
Right to information betrayed.
Sedition laws imposed
Official Secrets Act proposed.
Representing a minority questionable
Saffron terrorism not answerable.
Intimidation and violence acceptable ways of life
Lynching, Communal and Caste based violence a matter of pride.
Society more and more polarized
Friends and families breaking ties.
Dissent today is termed anti-national
Nationalism now means having no rational.
Law makers blatantly breaking the law
Unabashed examples Babri and Sabarmala.
The pride we had in the mergers of varied cultures
Being torn apart by religious political vultures.
We stand to lose the very fabric of this nation
The secularism promised by our very Constitution.
We are heading towards the death of democracy
The demise of a multi-cultured tolerant society.
Is this a future we envision for our children?
A nation based on hatred and division?
No change is very drastic or sudden
But in a few years our country will be beyond recognition.
Will we then ponder how this came about?
For in agreement or silence we have contributed beyond doubt.
By the team people realise it will be too late
